Well, sort of.
It seems our new Veep candidate is, well… hot. At least that seems to be the popular consensus. I will readily admit that I have concerns about her experience (or lack thereof), but the one thing that strikes me is that she embodies what public service was intended to be. She is not the typical slick, polished politician type. Rather, she’s an idealistic, self-declared “hockey mom.” Less partisan and more representative of her constituents than many, if not most beltway professional politicians. Since the selection of Sarah Palin was a direct appeal to “disenfranchised” (I’ve grown to hate that word) Hillary voters, that could play bad for McCain, unless they figure out a way to really market her genuine ambition to achieve over her glaring lack of foreign policy experience.
But then again, there are still sixty-some days until the general election. That’s more than enough time to put her on a plane to campaign for a week or two in Germany and Paris to equal Obama’s foreign policy experience. Have her spend an extra weekend in Italy – she can shop for handbags, or shoes, or whatever it is women hunt in the malls. Actual interfacing with the public, not to mention negotiation and bargaining experience should actually put her over the top of Obama’s resumé.
Hey, this is good. Add an extra day to purchase a rifle and some ammo, and send her hunting – something she genuinely is experienced and qualified to do. Voila! She’s brokered a foreign arms deal and as a bonus, exchanged small arms fire overseas! Hear that, Hillary? She could even use her own daughter for the tarmac photo-op! I like the one with the tiara… Have her wear the tiara!

They are an attractive family – speaking of which, I happened to make a remark… a very complimentary remark… on the Governess’ appearance, fully expecting Mrs. Who to smack me in the back of the head.
She didn’t.
Instead, Mrs. Who noted how similar Sarah Palin looked to Tracy Scoggins, the actress who played Commander Lochley on Babylon 5. Let’s see…
Here is Alaska’s Governess in uniform, hanging with our troops:

And here’s Tracy Scoggins in uniform as Commander Lochley of Babylon 5:

Close… but the governor was looking too friendly. Can she look more serious? Let’s see…

Damn, that’s not bad. But wait, I found this picture of Palin as a beauty pageant contestant:

Hello Nurse!
Of course, when Mrs. Who had first mentioned the similarity, there was one scene from the Babylon 5 series that immediately came to mind. In one episode, characters’ fantasies were revealed, and as the subject of another character’s desires, the Tracy / the Commander strutted her stuff in a dominatrix-lingerie camera shot that was as surprising as it was brief. (DVD pause/slow-motion advance rocks!) The image I found on the net was pretty poor quality, but there are an abundance of better pics of Tracy out there, so I won’t waste any of your my time. So instead…

Oh, and one more…

Yowza… Yeah, the similarity is there. Or maybe I’m just a letch. [sigh]
As for McCain’s future veep… Well, not surprisingly, there are no risque photos of Sarah out there. (Believe me, I looked..) But she does still manage to attract a special following…

That’s Governor I Like Fondly. Geez, What were you thinking it meant?
Pervert!
I call it…
…Just because I haven’t posted in, like, forever.
